Inlays for Mainstock

I came across this thread on the “Banjo Hangout” and immediately thought this would be good for mainstocks. Not as ornate as a pool cue but with a splash of malachite. I didn’t think inlaying could be done on a curved surface but here it is. The makers name is Chris Byrne.

The French pipe makers are very skilled at inlaying their pipes with different materials

Yes, when I was last over at Chris Bayley’s workshop he showed me a set of French pipes with Pewter inlaid around the bells of the drones. An amazing piece of work, and he even told me how it was done.

It’s Gil Hocker’s engraved Lynch full set. Apparently it took him over 400 hours to complete the engraving.
