I need some slow, haunting tunes

Paddy’s Green Shamrock Shore
Lakes of Ponchartrain
Women of Ireland (mNa na hEirran in the Irish, I think)
Mike

The Foggy Dew is a nice ‘haunting’ tune when slowed down a little. And the words to its older version “The Foggy, Foggy Dew” are romantic (in a dark sort of way).

Eamonn aChnoic played slowly is very nice.

The Limerick Rake nice too.

I’ve just learned two new ones that believe it not, our piano accordion player suggested.

Four Green Fields
The Green Fields of France.

Hmmm…a theme? Nah, just coincidence.

Easy to play, they are.

Mike

Women of Ireland = Mná na hÉireann as Gaeilge

Another suggestion: Fields of Athenry

Also Avanutria’s “Dallas Skies” (have you ever published that, Beth?)

Redwolf

Sliabh Russell played as a slow air.
