Today was Day 2 of my feeble attempts to play the lower octave on a borrowed practice set. I recorded some of my practice session for posterity… maybe someday I can look back on the experience and reflect on what I sounded like when I started.
I provide you with a sample for your listening amusement:
Right forget all the bull and get on wi the real work.Ye need to stop flaffing aboot and get into a regimé.Do ye have a Tutor book /DVD? if not (and it sounds as tho ye don’t) then get one.
Take it one step at a time or ye will end up wi all sorts o bad habits.
I can already hear bits o unecessary vibrato for eg , this should come much later when ye know whit ye are a doing.
Bag and bellows bag and bellows bag and bellows and holding the note is where ye should be on day 2.
If ye rush at this ye will only fall over.
The quicker ye learn to slow down the faster ye will learn.
Arra best

Yah, I’m aware that is was “bull”, that was kind of the whole idea.
I don’t have a book yet, as this was a quite sudden and unexpected opportunity to borrow a set. I fully intend to get a book, and I will most likely be taking lessons as well.
Bag and bellows bag and bellows wouldn’t have made for as memorable of a recording.
I am not trying to diss ye I just want to stress how important it is frae the very beginning to get it right.Just stick to the scale until ye get the book.Sometimes it is impossible to get rid of bad habits. If nothing else yoor recording is telling yooo to do just that..
