Poki Yoki? Okay, if you say so. Is that harder or easier than Pokemon?
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Jem and Henke. I’ll consider trying it sometime. I’m just so awed to be playing such an old instrument I’m always on orange alert. Until this older flute, I have been playing a wonderful club of a flute that I could probably have left out in a snowstorm without any damage.
I’ve taken the keys off a number of flutes, including some very old ones, and put them back on too.
And there have indeed been interesting moments, trying to get the pin through the hole in the key (can’t
put the key back on otherwise). But it really isn’t hard or terribly tricky, in my experience,
anyway.
Thankfully I’m in the ‘oil is useless’ camp. Some makers said ‘use oil,’ others said, ‘Don’t.’
Sloth tipped the balance in favor the latter advice. I only use it (almond oil) to clean the outside of
the flute, very rarely. Six years, no problems so far.
