Just about all the quenas I’ve seen have the top 3 holes all the same size. That includes quenas advertised as “concert” quality. I wonder if having the top 3 holes all being large, uniform size (the way they all seem to be) contributes to a desireable sound quality of the quena. If the first and third hole were smaller than the second one, it would be easier to finger, and I’m wondering if I had a quena made like that, would the sound quality be less authentic than if all were of large, uniform size?
