Hello everyone! Wondering if anyone can help me out. I am looking for a sweet sounding High E whistle. Does anyone know of anyone who makes them. Does anyone here on the forum own one?
Thank you for your help, it is appreciated!

James: I own an O’Riordan high E. It is an open, sweet instrument. I would like to suggest a Burke brass high E. They are readily available, and have the normal top-notch Burke intonation and playing characteristics.
Good luck in your choice.

Funny, when it rains it pours. ![]()
For an inexpensive E whistle, the Susato narrow bore E ($40) or the Dixon Trad E ($28) are good choices.

I’m pretty happy with the Susato. And I wouldn’t hesitate to go for the Dixon if I needed something a bit sweeter (haven’t tried it, but assuming it’s similar in character to the Dixon Trad D).
I’ll second Byll’s suggestion on the Burke high E’s. I love finding reasons to play mine. It’s just one darned sweet whistle. And if you are playing in the key of E, don’t overlook whistles tuned to B nat. I find myself using that whistle for many songs in E.

I’ve got a burke high E too and love it. So much that I have replaced it twice from it being stolen. Great sound for cutting through the noise of a session or a noisy gig. Also great for keeping up with the fiddlers when they go to E, A and B.
