Happy birfday everybody!
For my birthday I got one appointment at the phlebotomist (blood draw that went surprisingly well, considering I have a bona fide phobia of needles), one set of turquoise earrings, and a liquid silver necklace.
Plus dinner at my favorite-for-ten-years restaurant Piccolo Arancio. I had braised baby artichokes for an appetizer, then ravioli stuffed with porcini and potato, in a butter and Parmesan Reggiano sauce, topped with shaved white truffles. It was absolutely sinful. Dessert of white chocolate and pistachio creme brulee. Stinger to start it off, decaf espresso to finish.
And tomorrow I trek up to the Sweets for a day of shipping whistles. Whee!

Sounds like you had a great day. I had a family party – parents, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephew, great-nephew. House full of fun – lots of nice gifts, plus a new whistle hand made by a niece.
Not quite as ‘sweet’ as a job with the Sweets … but nice.
