Greetings!

easy there…don’t blow all of your credibility too early.

Oops, I meant to write, “All y’all seem like the surly types my mother warned me about. Typical musicians. I will be blessed to not meet any of you in person.”

Better?

 too far

the u-pipers have a lock on surly
the fluters get a bit snarky at times…

Again, welcome aboard, and welcome to the community!

If any y’all live near Oxford (Ohio, USA), you are welcome to come jam with me. I have a singer and fiddle player coming to my place on Monday nights now. I don’t know any pipers in my area, though I could probably find out if there are any through the music department at Miami University.

Pipers, surly. Whistler, snarky. got it.

fluters snarky

the whistlers are all over the place

I lived in Springfield from 1955-1965…
about as close to you as I’ve lived.

Oh…you’re gonna fit right in here…I can tell. :stuck_out_tongue:

welcome

This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSjmvU_8xLY) is what has thoroughly convinced me of even trying to pursue the uilleann pipes. The first time I heard this, it stopped me in my tracks. It had me entranced.

This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ChbigufBC8) video of Joe John Kelly is what convinced me to try and experiment more with Bodhran.

 I’m not sure if we’re allowed to talk about Davy here

John Joe is one amazing dude though!

:stuck_out_tongue: Another drummer to fill the ranks…I love it!

you would

an’ he wants to take up a double reed! :poke:

I would think a board like this would be filled with bodhran players…what with irish music being a major theme and all.

Well I can’t claim to be a bodhran player, although I do have one and have banged on the thing on occasion, I do play other drums (tympani, when I’m not on oboe with community orchestra and retired flourishing Scottish Tenor player)

We drummers have to stick together. Everyone gives us a hard time, saying it’s soooo easy, nothing to it at all, until they try. :stuck_out_tongue:

I pick on anyone that I think is any good :stuck_out_tongue:

Drumbers are traditional though!

Will you please quit calling that fine symphony that you play with the “community orchestra.” You make it sound like that group from the TV show “Green Acres.” Have you ever brought this up in a business meeting?

Hey, I resemble that group from Green Acres…

We’ve all seen photos and I believe we have heard clips. As my wife would say to the boys she babysits, “Are you pants in flames yet?”

yeah, but he’s cheatin’ with that breathin’ box… :imp:

yeah, I’d think so!
