Getting the Low D thing...

I resisted buying a low D for a looong time, but you all talked about them so much I finally bought a Kelpie from MK whistles. So many said that it was my best whistle that I asked my wife why. She said, “Because I can sit right beside you while you play it.”

Ah, the low whistle. I only have one for now but I fell in love with it the day it arrived. I’ll be trying more as soon as I can fit it in my budget. The only downside to them is that they cost more. I think it’s completely worth the price though.

Which low whistle did you get?

I got the Kerry low D when it got discontinued to make room for the new Optima’s. It was such a good deal that I couldn’t pass it up. I’m sure it’s far from the “best” low whistle out there but it’s more than good enough for me. It plays with a lovely smooth tone and isn’t too loud. It doesn’t do too well outside on cold nights though. I’m not sure if it’s because of the whistle or because my fingers get too cold to work properly.
