German Pipemakers

The problem is ofcourse you began speaking of respectable pipemakers. They tend to be the ones who pay attention to detail.

I am very relaxed
So, I really thought you were thinking that the dutch pipe maker also was apprentices of Mr Rogge, as you mentioned him already at the beginning of this topic. (but you know… )
Were pipes are made I don’t mind at all, who plays them, ect… If they are ok then it’ s fine to me.
The piping world of a neighbour country can be very interesting to me.

You may be overestimating the sort of equipment needed to make pipes. The finest pipes can, and are, made in a small shed using a minimum of machinery. A good lathe, a drill press, a polishing wheel and a bunch of hand tools go a long way in the right hands.

You’re correct Peter but to be able to make 8+ full set a year you’d need a good bit of gear to speed up the process.

Also wonder when there is a topic about pipe maker that the money issue comes forward.

Sorry about that Patrick. That might have been my fault. I should have started another thread. Apologies.

I realise that ofcourse (I hear the whispers about so and so employing copy turning lathes) . But read it in the light of the post I was responding to: how many pipemakers have CNC machines in their workshop?

Not sure but I can think of 5 offhand.

The price of a decent CNC lathe is about the cost of a full set of pipes so if you could increase your out put by the worth of a full set over a few years it would pay for itself.
