Hey all,
I got a generation D the other day to experiment with tweaking. Its been awhile since Ive played one so I have a few questions. So far I only took the fipple off and sanded the blade down a little. I noticed that whistle seems to go out of tune especially on the cnatural fingering. However if I blow softly it goes back in tune. Does the tuning usually go out when you shorten the blade a little? Also the first few notes of the second octave have a sorta buzz/rattle to them, is that normal with generations, and can it be helped at all by tweaking? I think I hear a little of this in Paddey Maloney’s playing sometimes so maybe its not so bad. Also generations need very little air so mayb I just need to back off alittle. Ive been playing a tony dixon for awhile now and Im kinda used to blowing as hard as I want, with this generation I have to find places to breath out:)
