FORT STEWART, Ga. – Iraqi insurgents appear to be forcing some followers to commit suicide car bombings by tying or binding them inside explosive-carrying vehicles, the commanding general of allied security forces in Baghdad said Wednesday.
“In one case, Iraqi police found pieces of a car after it exploded which included an accelerator pedal that had the suicide bomber’s foot still taped to it, so that you can’t chicken out and leave,” Maj. Gen. William G. Webster told reporters in a video conference from Baghdad.
Anyone who relies on a policy of blowing up non-combatant women and children is a coward. The rest of them are cowards too, the guys who don’t dare show their faces in the videos of their torture and murder of defenceless captives, all the while shouting “Allah Akbar.” If “Allah” exists and approves, he is satan. If he exists and doesn’t approve, I trust the cowards are going to be richly rewarded in the next life, and I hope the US and UK Marines send them to it as quickly as possible.
Well, there is a world of difference between cowardly and stupid. Their actions might actually be smart, as killing helpless people does make a point. It is still cowardly. And I don’t care if it’s helpful, I care about truth. If their deity approves of that behavior, that is what he is. Note the way I said what I did.
I wonder what goes on in the minds (sic) of the folks at places like Amnesty Int’l., when a group of Muslim terrorists blows up a mosque …and copies of the Koran are of course, present.
This is completely irrelevant. I wonder what goes on in your mind if you think that Amnesty International in any way shape or form condones suicide bombers no matter where they’re from. Get a grip.
Only those that desire to ignore the sheer hypocrisy of it would think it irrelevant.
Sure, of course it’s irrelevant - it’s doesn’t fit the agenda, so let’s ignore it.
YOU’RE the one bringing AI and condoning into it - and of course, I understand why - you’re hoping that’s what I meant, but you’re wrong, and that’s what happens when you try putting words into other people’s posts.
IrTrad, Amnesty Intl isn’t about protecting the Koran, it’s about protecting people’s rights to fair treatment. And since we have no idea what’s in their minds when a mosque is bombed, let’s not use that in a discussion. At the moment, the U.S. is treating some prisoners at Guantanamo (and other prisons) in a manner that’s considered by many to be in violation of the Geneva Convention, and using extreme and cruel methods to break down those prisoners. As far as I know, AI would be reporting on any country that did this - there are just some people who don’t like and can’t accept the fact that in this case it’s the U.S.
My point is simply that AI - especially when using terms like “gulag” in reference to a small handful of mishandlings of a Koran - is strangely silent when Muslims are blowing each other up, along with their Korans.
AI wasn’t just talking about “a small handful of mishandlings of a Koran” when they made their statement. The prisoners abuses in Gitmo go way beyond that.
AI is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI has never attempted to justify why prisoners are being abused, so they wouldn’t have any reason to comment on suicide bombers. They have always been concerned about human rights of prisoners. Usually these prisoners are political, but not always. The work of AI has been considered credible and valid by the US when they referenced their work to make their case against Iraq to the UN Security Council, but the minute AI turns their focus to US political prisoner abuse – suddenly they’re ridiculous. AI wasn’t established to provide immunity for the US government in its culpability regarding prisoner abuse, and there’s no reason that US abuses against political prisoners should be ignored or given special treatment. AI has criticized any government over these same issues, so why should the US be exempt?
If you want to understand the thrust of what AI does try reading their mission statement and learning about their history. AI has always been a crucial International voice for the rights of political prisoners.
