FT Ghb for Uilleann half set

Hi Guys,

I’m planning to retire from my Highland Bagpipe. I need something less loud so i wanna step in the Uilleann world.
I’d love to trade my Ghb for a good set of Uilleanns.
This is what i have to offer:

ABW Drone made by Chris Terry ( MacDougall spec ) with engraved aluminium mounts
ABW Chanter McC2
Ross bag medium with spare canister
Henderson drone reeds.
Few chanter reeds ( MacPhee / Gilmour )
Drone cords and some other maintenance stuff.

Just be aware that ABW now requires a CITES certificate to ship across national borders.

There’s nothing quite like the Uilleann pipes for expressiveness and I would be the last person to try to disuade you from attempting the transition. I tried to do the same but, after several years, I gave up and went back to the GHB. I found it easy to play simple tunes on the Uilleann pipes but was never able to make them “sing”. It’s all in the nuances. Plus a lot of practice. To solve the loudness factor of the GHB, I bought a set of McCallum Scottish Small Pipes. The fingering is identical to the GHB so all the familiar tunes are instantly playable. The volume is loud enough to fill a room without damaging anyone’s hearing. Something to think about.

I think that GHB is ONLY for outdore use NEWER i a small room.

Reading, on the other hand, can be done anywhere…
