Got this a week or so ago for a friend in Ohio that was going to take up the flute. He changed his mind after realizing how much practice is necessary to perfect the embouchure and didn’t want to take that time from his main instrument.
When it first arrived, I didn’t like the sound at all. After oiling it and greasing the (dry) tenon thread I got a better sound out of it but the flute was out of tune with it self horribly and was overall very flat. I realized then that the issue was the cork. It was about 30mm away from it’s proper spot. After adjusting it, I am surprised how good it plays. I would keep it but I’m in the process of thinning my collection and I can’t justify adding a new flute during that process.
