I’m in a dilemma. I have this absolutely new condition instrument,

but it’s just not being used. I’m focussing much more on the flute. I do not forsee that this will be used much at all.
It’s a super instrument, both the whistle and the fife, and the key work is quite good. And I’ve taken excellent care of it (oiling regularly, etc.). It’s just sitting around in my humidor untouched.
I’ve attempted to sell it for the price I paid, $500.00, with no takers. I thought that a more than fair price, since
- it’s in perfect condition,
- there are only a handful of these out there to date, and
- Ralph said very recently that, while he does plan on making a few more of them, it won’t be for quite some time.
I’m willng to entertain offers at this point. I’m not actually in need of money, so it’s got to be a decent offer. I would also much prefer cash instead of trade (although, feel free to try; one never knows, though I am picky). If there were a trade, it would most likely still have to include part cash.
Tax season is upon us. I am willing to take a downpayment to hold this for the buyer for some agreed-upon time until the money is there.
This instrument would be so much better used in the hands of someone who would play it much more than I.
