FS: (Soon) Helmut Gotschy hurdy gurdy; Phoenix Royal custom

Greetings,

Before long (at a guess, some months’ time) I’ll be selling a very slightly used hurdy gurdy.
I’ve used it enough to know that this is one instrument I truly need to delve much more deeply into, so I’m upgrading.
This one is Helmut’s “Phoenix Royal” (transparent blue finish over flame maple) but with customizations:

  1. Celtic knotwork inlay on the keybox, wheel cover, and tailpiece;
  2. Extra trompette;
  3. total: G drone, C drone, low G chanter, high G chanter, G trompette, C trompette;
  4. both C drone and C trompette have capos to make them D;
  5. can drone R-5-Octave in the keys of G and C (major or minor); can drone R-Octave in D (or Dm).
  6. fully chromatic keyboard;
  7. built-in pickup with 3-band EQ and tuner;
    :sunglasses: metal tangents;
  8. fretless fingerboard for the G (mouche with a chien) string;
  9. custom fit hard case;
  10. in excellent playing condition and appearance condition.

For a photo:

  1. go to www.tommyswirled.com
  2. click on “music” in the left-hand frame;
  3. click on “instruments”;
  4. scroll to almost the bottom.

I paid 3,185 Euro ($4,178.00);
His standard Phoenix Royal has just had a 7% increase; don’t know about the custom upgrades;
I waited 5 months; I hit his building cycle just right.

Email me if interested and I could be convinced to let it go early:
