I’ve got a Reyburn Low D with offset fingering that I would like to sell. It plays beautifully, but I just can’t make the reach- my hands are too small! I bought it used about 5-6 months ago for $140, and I’d like to get around that for it, plus I’ll pay shipping. It’s a truly wonderful instrument.
I sent you a PM about this whistle.
Gwen, I just want to make sure of something: you know that you’re supposed to play the bottom hole with your pinkie on the offset model, right? That should make it manageable for someone with small hands.
The offset fingering makes it so you play the bottom note with your pinkie, and I can reach that fairly well- it’s the top hand that is giving me grief! I have to stretch so far that playing music that sounds like music just isn’t feasible. I have very small hands, though, so I would imagine that anyone with average sized hands would not have any problems.
The Reyburn reach is challenging. But if your hands are not too small - the voice is awesome.
My hands are smallish for a guy (men’s glove size small) but with a little practice I made it work.
That’s a good price too.
The Reyburn is sold, pending payment.
