I have a M & E Keyless Polymer Flute Key of D which has the Joint Rings and comes with the case. This flute has the plain end cap on it. I can’t remember where or when I bought it. I have never played it. I am trying to raise founds for a Mandolin. Asking $350.00 plus shipping.

There was an earlier “original model.” The Rudall came later. I thought it was an great improvement over the original.

Crickett, my M&E had “M & E / Rudall & Rose” on its end cap, that’s a sure indicator 
though there may be R&R model flutes without this inscription.
Yes, there are some without the R&R crest on the cap. Some of those have the M&E name and some are plain caps.

As mentioned below, the end cap might tell you, but hole size will always tell. The older model had very small tone holes, whereas the R&R model has larger holes (quite noticeably larger, too).

To Jayhawk’s point - M&E Original on top and R&R model on bottom. The TH1 hole is to the left and the BH3 hole is to the right on both flutes.
