Wow, hard to believe this one is still available, at this price! A Goldie Overton for less than $200; that would have been a very welcome find for me when I first started whistling almost 10 years ago. I remember searching for a long time for one at that price, and finally gave up, since they were few and far between, then. Non-tunables may even be a better choice if tone and resonance is given top billing.

Wait times and shipping costs from Germany also added to the mix why I wanted a used one. Also, don’t be afraid of a harder blower, as Eric describes this one, though he qualifies that with adding that it’s not hard to play at all-in fact, quite the opposite. And if Eric says it’s got great tone, it does-he’s pretty particular in that regard, and also about tuning! Besides, he’s a good guy, and easy to talk to-and totally reliable.

The Goldie Overtons seem to have long been the standard to which most all others have been compared to, for tone and playability. If I had more money than whistles, I certainly would go for it, but that’s not the case for me. Lucky you, if you have a few shekels in your pocket to spare-this one just seems it should have had a good home by now!
