Frankenwhistles?

It’s late, and my imagination is wandering.

I’ve heard of some neat fipple / tube swapping (Mellow Dogs &c) but I was wondering about other hybrids you might have heard of.

In addition, a bunch of glass, graphite, Monel and kevlar scraps from fly-rods has got me wondering about cool materials for whistles. What’s out there? Any Rumors? Anyone tried to reproduce a favourite whistle on a CNC prototyping rig?

Those are some cool looking things.

I like the nano guitar that actually plays!

I admit this isn’t weird ,exotic or way out there but I bought some black Walton fipples and they make a very good whistle combined with a Gen nickle d tube. Much eaisier than all the sanding, cutting, gluing etc. fipple tweaks.

you don’t think that posting comments about black Walton fipples combined with Generation nickle d tubes is wierd? Ask you girlfriend or co-workers how wierd that is.

So the whistle tweak itself isn’t weird but posting it in a public forum is. I somehow feel exposed

Try not to worry about it Toughknot, after all, birds of a feather whistle togeather.

This guy is making some interesting flutes with non traditional materials. I especially like the springless key action. Very ingenious.

In reply to Scott’s post…

Wow! those are phat! I wish they had more pics and some pricing. Even thought I’m not into flutes, I’m gonna have to give them a call tomorrow and get some more info.

Well Scott, that is interesting. I would like to see a carbon flute and hear it.

I saw pricing a while ago. I want to say they were 6000-8000 each but now Im’ not so sure. I think there are some dealer links on the site that list phone numbers so you can call for pricing an availability.
