For sale: A complete set of Kerry Low Whistles
Low C, D, Eflat, E, F and G.
These whistles have an aluminum body and plastic mouthpiece. (see The Whistleshop for a picture of the Low D).
Phil Hardy used to make the Kerry Low whistles in all of the above keys but now only makes the Kerry Low D. I have slightly tweaked all these whistles (mainly just put extra Teflon tape under the mouthpieces for a tighter fit to eliminate any buzz) and they all play great. The diameters of the bodies are the same for all the whistle and the mouthpieces are also the same. The finger reach is better than many other low whistles.
I would like to sell them all as a set for $300 plus $10 shipping. As an incentive I will include a Song of the Sea Flute/Low Whistles soft padded case (all 6 whistle can fit in the case but it is a tight fit) and 3 extra mouthpieces, a Howard (a slightly larger diameter than the Kerry but with some extra Teflon tape can fit snuggly and gives the whistle a sound more like the Howard) and two specially made mouthpieces to fit the Kerry-a PVC mouthpiece made by Mack Hoover and a PVC/Derlin mouthpiece made by Daniel at Jubilee Whistles (I actually sent a Kerry whistle to each maker so they can make the custom mouthpiece fit and sound right). Each mouthpiece adds their own quality to the sound of the whistle (Mack’s quieter, clearer and less chiff, Daniel’s more of a flute/airy sound.
If I can not sell the whistle as a set I will consider selling separately.
