OK so this is a real thicko question but … why two identical flutes?
Sorry - I have no fear about appearing ignorant in public!

My guess would be that Calum needed 2 identical ones to take on the road with him with his heavy touring schedule, incase something happened to one god forbid.
I always take a back up sax on tour with me with im away from home and repair/music shops.
Kevin Crawford has two identical D Grinters if I remember correctly, for exactly that reason.
That rush after flutes never ends does it? I feel it in my vains… ;/ But I already have a flute damn it!
I wish I could pay this price to get this pretty thing.
Hi Bramble,
Yes, Chris is right - With two flutes, one can relieve the pressure slightly (especially the ‘playing in’ period), and also is a little safety net in case something happens to one, before a repair can be made.
Calum
Both these lovely flutes have now found new homes.
Thanks everyone for your interest,
Calum
