For Sale: 1 Lot of 5 high d whistles

OK, I decided to go for it, and have a Clearance Sale of my extra whistles sitting around that are getting sad from me not playing them-whistle abuse, I know. Well, maybe neglect is a better description.
All are high Ds. Sold together only.

  1. & 2) 2 Clare red heads, brass bodies. One a little purer toned than the other.
  2. 1 Clark Original, black with gold diamonds, not tweaked, classic airy tone, sounds great!
  3. 1 Oak nickel plated brass with black tip. Distinctive pure tone.
  4. 1 Walton’s Mellow D one piece, green top, brass body. Wide bore(same as C) gives it a deeper, mellow tone with character.

It’s hard to go wrong with this deal, all great whistles, in almost unplayed condition. None have to be tweaked, but of course you could, if you wanted to, but I wouldn’t! Leave the tweaking for the bad whistles!

I have loosened the fipples (under warm tap water) and applied beeswax
to free them and make them slide up and down so they are easily tunable.

Priced at $40 shipped in the Continental US.

The value is approx. $42 to $50 retail, NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING, and what you would get if you ordered these somewhere else, is anybodys guess as to how good they would turn out to be.

Any beginners out there looking for their ‘voice’ couldn’t do better, and for you more experienced players, these are all GOOD whistles. I handpicked a couple, and got very lucky with the other three! They might be a little sharp or flat in a note here and there, but usually can be blown into tune easily, or darn close. And no squaking, until maybe the very upper of the 2nd octave, if blown right. I’ve read of the horror stories on the board about terrible whistles, but I got all good ones. I might not be rich, but I have good whistles. What else could you ask for?

Maybe just a good new home for these!

I can take PayPal (not by credit card) or a Postal Money order, or Cashier’s check, whichever you prefer.

Email or PM me if interested.
