It’s all a mystery to to me, but it passes the viusal WOW test.
I’m assuming you have a really, really comfortable chair.
The tech at t.c.electronic sent it to me also. I followed all the steps and my machine is noticeably faster now.
I think we’ve narrowed down the issue to too much bandwidth on a shared IRQ.
I have to do some more testing when I get home tonight. I want to get it squared away before some folks come by Wednesday with guitars and stuff.
My flat bu++ doesn’t like many chairs - but the work chair at this computer is not bad.
So cool. Dual monitors are a must for DAW, even if they’re CRTs.
Have you tried a spiffy English preamp? Any outboard gear? Mics?
Haven’t tried Sonar - how’s it to work with?
Right now I just have a pair of AudioTechnica 2020 large diaphragm condenser microphones.

I’m still tuning the system to be an affective DAW. Still have the glitch every 60 seconds with the wireless NIC enabled - seems like a conflict with the firewire bus (though I have a low contention IRQ for the firewire adapter). Anyone else heard of something like that?
I’ll install Sonar this evening. To date I’ve used mostly single channel WAV programs like Soundforge. Not much experience with the multitracking and MIDI - unless you count analog mixing boards and 8 track reel tapes back in the prehistoric days.

I used to love chasing down latency errors, random cuts, noise, hums, and unmentionable gremlins. They almost drive a guy to doing some percussive maintenance (smacking it with a hammer). Patience, and keeping a log of settings configurations helps. I wish I could help more directly, but I’m dangerously out of date.

Installing the latest driver for my wireless network adapter.

Upgrading to the latest firmware on my wireless broadband router.
Go figure.
Everything rocks now - and it’s rock solid. I got the matched Yamaha sub-woofer for the monitors. All signal cables are digital, or shielded and balanced TRS and XLR.
The sound is so freekin’ clean it sparkles. Now to dig in and learn Sonar 6 Studio Edition. 
Huh. Weird.
I probably wouldn’t have used Wi-Fi for a DAW, but once it works don’t change it for a while…
