Thanks to Chuck Clark, I tried and discovered that the main melody line to the William Tell Overture can be easily played on a whistle. I’m interested in what famous classical melody lines, tv themes, etc. C&F members like to perform for people…

My wife got us a set of all the Blackadder tapes. We slap one in the VCR from time to time and just howl.
I like “Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo” from the Leslie Caron movie oldie, “Lili” - really pretty and you can get a nice lilt in 3/4 time. Also a lot of repeated notes begging for some nice ornamentation. A fun piece to play.

Kendra have you ever heard Tim Buckley’s (Jeff’s Pop) take on that tune? Amazing! I just tried it on whistle and your right, it’s a great tune for it.
Usually when I’m playing around drunk folk, I play somthing hypnotic, over and over again to see who runs to the bathroom first.
The theme song from Teletubbies is one of my most frequently requested tunes. Also the theme from SpongeBob Squarepants. To my wife’s delight, and my childrens’ dismay, I sometimes play the old disco hit, The Hustle.
And of course, Joe’s Garage by the late, great Frank Zappa.

Jesu joy etc is an obvious one but I can get through a good bit of Vivaldi’s mandolin concerto in G if need be.
