The office fear monger keeps me updated on this. He is a physicist
and computer programmer who worked on models for icesheet
breakdown in the 70’s and has followed the story with trepidation for
years now. Apparantly, now that the sheet has actually started to
break up, the further breakdown will be exponential. So, his updates
always end with "The first 3 floors of Trump Towers will be
underwater in 10 years.
Apparantly, the change in water depth will also change the path of
the gulf stream, so that global warming will ironically make northern
Europe colder.

Yep. And it’s official, the Gulf Stream is slowing down to the point where it may have already stopped, or even gone into reverse.
The melting ice entails a certain amount of rise in the ocean level - unless the ice-sheets crawl over Europe again as a consequence of the reversed Gulf Stream. It’s hard to say what will compensate for what.
To be honest, although I agree that millions of cars belching out carbon monoxide is not a good thing, I can’t help thinking that the conviction that Humans alone are responsible for Global Climate Change (I won’t call it “warming”) is a bit on a par with thinking that the Thunderstorm is “your fault”.
I look forward to hunting wooly mammoth again. And those who seem to know, say that this means that the South American Woods will become a desert, and the Sahara Desert will re-afforest. Sure nothing stays the same, does it?
