Earthrise

Now, that’s a view you don’t get to see everyday! But, I can’t quite make out the guy with the whistle, or is it a flute? Where is he?

For some reason that image kept saying “Apollo 8” to me. I followed the link and, sure enough, that’s where it came from. I guess it stuck with me for all those years.

…funny, ain’t it…

My favorite photo from the Apollo missions.

I’ll always remember the Christmas Eve broadcast from lunar orbit. Very moving, especially when you look at the photo above and realize just how far from home they were.

I always thought that was the best photo ever taken.

That photo makes me think of moon terms–like new moon, full moon, half moon, etc. So now it’s got me thinking about the new earth…maybe that’s what it’s all about.

So, am I the only one that thinks it looks fake? I’m sure I had a beachball that looked just like that. (What was that movie with Elliot Gould?)

Gawd, you old cynic you! You remind me of my dad, who’s convinced that the moon landings and walks were all filmed somewhere in Arizona!

Merry Christmas y’all. I doubt whether I’ll be allowed near the computer tomorrow!
