DONAL CLANCY & OISIN McAULEY 9/29 at IAANJ Rockaway NJ

Donal & Oisin of Danu will perform at a house style concert (only bigger!) at IAANJ at 352 Richard Mine Rd. Rockaway NJ, Saturday 9/29 at 8:00PM. Even better, we will have a session afterwards. Free refreshments and parking. Cape Breton Fiddler Amy Beshara and her band will do an opening set.

Tickets are $20 or $15 for IAANJ members. Ticket holders and reservations will be allowed in first, so please make a reservation if you think you will be attending. If you would like to order tickets ahead, contact irisnevins@verizon.net rather than posting a reply here.

Donal & Oisin will also each offer a workshop from 4:00 - 5:30 for $35. Resevations for that are a must, so please get in touch.

Hope some of you can make it!
Iris

Would that be a Danette concert, then?

Absolutley Hysterical! I will tell the guys they have a new name to use!

Are they doing this gig as a one time event, or are they touring as a duo? if so, is there a schedule available–preferably that shows a Mass. date?

As far as I know this is a one off show… but I will suggest they tour as a duo and let people know when I see them. I think maybe Donal has other irons in the fire with other music, not sure. Not sure what Oisin is up to.

It’s not sooooo far, drive down!! we have a great party, a session, a great Cape Breton Fiddler named Amy Beshara will open the second set, good food… there are some Days Inns and such in the area too. I know… a lot of work!! But you’d have fun.

Hi Irisnevins–thanks for the prodding, but I don’t think I’ll be able to make it that weekend. Definitely ask them to take the duo on the road. I’ve seen Danu twice, and I would like to see Oisin in a solo gig. Donal Lunny–what can I say–a titan in ITM! I haven’t seen him live, but I’d like to sometime. While you’ve got them, might as well ask Donal to bring Andy Irvine, too!

All you have to do is come to the Boston chapter of CCE on Saturday mornings.

Oisin is organizing 4 levels of Ceili band. You do an hour class with you instrument and an hour with Oisin leading a ceili group at your level. He’s not teaching fiddle this semester.

Thanks for the info, DW. I wasn’t aware that he was working with CCE. Saturdays aren’t good for me this fall, but I’ll have to check it out in the January.

Brewster, It’s Donal Clancy, not Lunny… but he’s super anyway! Great guitar player…
