Diatonic Weapons - more fun and nonsense

Last year we have the threat of WMD’s Whistles of Mass Destruction.

To further pollute bandwidth with additional nonsense, I have come up with a new term.

First of all, to some, bring a Recorder to session is a akin to posseses WMD’s - or WiMD’s it can mean Wind Instrument of Mass Destruction.

To help the classification, we can now refer to Tin Whistles as Diatonic Weapons. I like that term, it sounds almost like Atomic.

Diatonic weapons are based on 6-hole theory. The most destructive being the smallest - The High-G.

I have a whistle and I’m not afraid to use it.

:sunglasses:
Couldja make a three-fippled high G? A true doomsday device.

You tamper with forces you cannot understand.

Exactly, you could really level the playing field with a High-G Tri-fipple diatonic device. A group of them playing together could be perceived as “Guided Whistles”

Weapons are cruel and evil.

So is an ensemble of triple-fipple-high-G-whistles and gar klein recorders!

CAUTION: As a matter of safety, we do not advise the
wearing of spectacles with glass lenses to this concert.

Without wishing to up the ante by antagonising you six-hole types I should like to nominate the ten-hole diatonic harmonica as the ultimate wind “instrument” of mass destruction. Over a billion have been made and many people would like to see them destroyed en masse.

Steve

A friend and coworker of mine who has played guitar for years and years asked his wife if he could order a tinwhistle.

She wasn’t thrilled with the idea, so she “compromised” and bought him a harmonica. :astonished:

Actually, he sounds pretty good on it already. Like any wind instrument, it is an avatar of either beauty or pain, depending on who is playing it.

–James

More pain than beauty when someone grabs the one you’re “playing” and rams it where the sun don’t shine… :astonished:

Steve

We’ll have to call that a Harmonic Decidiatonic Sonic Disruptor.

The ultimate solution is to gather them up and send them to Mars.

BTW - The above graphic used to crash Macs for some reason, hopefully that has been resolved.

You could probably level a large building.
