I’ve just heard, about an hour ago, that a good friend of mine, Deirdre Smyth, passed away on 12th March. Her funeral, apparently, was yesterday.
She was a lovely, lovely person and a very fine fiddler indeed. She was quiet, with a lively sense of humour - quiet, that is, until she played, when the sound of her playing would fill a session. What a musician!
Rest in peace, Deirdre. I’ll miss the tunes, your wonderful music and your company.
