"John Doran, a piper himself and the son of the great Johnny Doran, is to be buried today (16/06/03) in Rathnew cemetery in Wicklow.
The removal was on Sunday evening to Francis Street church in Dublin’s Liberties, from where John’s uncle Felix Doran was buried in 1971.
Leo Rickard played at the removal last night, and John Rooney played this morning at the mass - The Coolin during the Communion, and Boolavogue as the body left the church.

Very sad, they seem a tight knit bunch, the Dorans and their relations.
John Rooney is a fine player and can sound eerily like his late father in law, Felix Doran.
