David Daye - Penny Chanter

I’ve read a few posts regarding the David Daye Penny Chanter.

I have ordered a practice set (still waiting for it to arrive, drooling at the mouth if you must know!).

Sooooo, I’d like to know from those of you who have a set, whether you like them.

Thanks

Dave gave me a prototype penny chanter 5 years ago and it CHANGED my life!!I had been playing a Tim Britton chanter that was VERY frustrating to play-the penny chanter is heaven to play in comparison. And it can be reeded by anyone who knows what they are doing. I got a new chanter from Dave last year and it is even better than the prototype(plus Dave is a really nice guy to boot!!!)

I’ll second the praise for this man’s work. I’ve had my P-C since March, and LOVE it. I’ve had a bit of trouble with my reeds, but I believe it’s due to the unusual climate here in Utah.

As far as looks, and quality of construction, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better maker out there at ANY price, let alone at $450 for a complete practice set in just about two months!
