As i know, if you haven’t a very good chanter, you can’t play semitones expect c nat 1st. And g sharp or b flat you can’t play at all, only with keys :sniffle:

This question has come up a few times in the not-too-distant past. There are some who believe you can play any note on your chanter without need of keys either by half-holing or cross-fingering.

Do a search for half-holing and cross-fingering and you should get some results. If that doesn’t work, do a search for chanter keys.

Some chanters (such as Rogge chanters) will play a Bflat by using the C nat key and a combination of fingers: sometimes all fingers down, sometimes bottom two fingers up. Try it. Of course you will need a C nat key.
