Here is a photo of the last set of whistles to be made in my Chilliwack shop:
Last month, I started my seventh decade and decided it was time to retire from my day-job as a high school teacher. My Chilliwack shop is being dismantled and I will be moving to Vancouver Island, reopening for orders in a few months. The above C,D set in bocote is not yet spoken for and I have one more set, in European beechwood. There are also a few single whistles available: purpleheart D, tiger maple C and African blackwood C.
Stay tuned for further announcements, when I am again in operation.
Congratulations on your birthday and retirement, David.
Once you settle on the Island, will you have more time to devote to whistle making?
The photos of your newest creations are gorgeous, but can they compare with the C/D Rover set you made for me? You set a high bar! Your C whistle is my favourite high whistle, followed closely by your high D.
Wishing you happy beginnings in your new home. You will be missed on the Lower Mainland.
