Thanks! It’s aimed at the young adult market. There’s a couple of incidents of violence, and some salty language, but is generally fairly pg otherwise.
Looks excellent. I recently got a Kindle Fire, and just sprung for your book. Apart from some public domain stuff I downloaded, this will be the first Kindle book I’ve actually bought. Good luck with it.
(for Kindle-savvy people… Amazon acknowledged my purchase and said that the book would be downloaded to my Fire via WiFi. It’s still not there several minutes later. How long does this take? Do I have to do something else to get it into my device? )
Book purchases usually hit my kindle pretty much instantly.
I’d say make sure your wifi is on and connected (or 3g for people who have one of the older kindles that support it), and if it still hasn’t shown up hitting “sync” on the device should do it.
Congratulations! It’s great feeling, isn’t it? For me, nothing beats the moment when I get a new book in my hands for the first time - usually I open it up and smell it, get my nose right into the gutter. (I’m waiting for my 15th book to come out in the spring.)
Much as I love my Kindle, it doesn’t smell as good as new paper…
I hope this will be the first of many for you. And may the literary road always rise to meet you.
The thing about the literary road is you always meet it, whether it rises or not, I’ve found.
Nevertheless Greg, I hope your stretch of road is paved, or at least not too pot-holed!
( I had a phone chat with the Kindle experts at Amazon. They had me do a hard restart of the device, and also had me reboot my router. Now it seems better and your book showed up ).
Wanderer, this is a really fine book! I truly enjoyed it, cover to cover. I liked the characters, the scenery and the whole general feel of the thing. It has sequel written all over it, in which case I hereby pre-order my copy for the Kindle. Good job!
