Some artists are in the habit of telling the audience it’s OK to record. Clears up any lingering doubts.
As promised, here’s the whole 90-minute set.
Eileen Ivers at the Newport Irish Festival, Sunday September 2, 2007, starting at around 6:30pm EDT.
I tried to name the files appropriately. On one of the tracks (3), there are two sets. I don’t have the software to split wma files, so you’ll have to live with it. If anyone can give me the names of the tunes in her sets, I’ll add the info to the files for future reference.
Also, my apologies for the random hoots, hollers, bad singing, and talking to my daughter that will be all-too-clear in this HQ recording. It was, after all, an Irish Festival, and as such, this show was at the end of the day of drinking quite a number of Smithwicks’, and having altogether too much fun.
So, without further ado, please enjoy.

For those unfamiliar with Ms. Ivers’ style, be forewarned that tho’ she is well versed in the tradition, her show is well beyond ITM. 'Nuff said. Have at it!
All I ask is that you download this for your own personal use and enjoyment.
thanks!!!
and for the “xx_” prefixes
so how do I convert them to mp3?? Just learned gravel walks from one of her album so this is great! Pure drop or not, fun to listen to
Liz Carroll and John Doyle played an Irish Fair last year and I went up asked if I could record. Both John and Liz said YES so I did. That’s the first time I’ve done a live concert recording like that in a public venue.
I know that if you have Audacity, and you have the mp3 library (I can’t remember what it’s called, but I think the Audacity help tells you), you should be able to convert. I just did the uploading from work, and I don’t have Audacity here (or the permission to install it).
converted all the wma files to mp3. if anyone wants them, pm me
To my mind, all this kind of thing does is stir up new interest and fans for the artist.
Where’s the harm in that?
Nice one, mate.
