Combination piccolo-flageolet?

Anyone know anything about piccolo-flageolets? I picked one up on e-Bay. One of those things, did really know what is was (certainly not what it was advertised as), but looked interesting so I bid on it. I had to go on line to figure out what it was and that’s all I have found out so far. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the info.
Cheers:)

As far as I know, it’s basically a piccolo body with any number of keys and the headjoint can removable and replaced with a fipple + barrel attachment (or similar?). I’m unsure of the key though… What seems to be the trouble with yours?

Basically nothing is wrong with it, actually appears to be in great shape. I’ll know more when I get the tenons rewrapped. I have wrapped the piccolo head and it appears to be in “D”. It has 5 keys, probably needs new pads. Haven’t had time to fool around with it, yet.
I had just never seen or heard of one. I am looking for the anything about their history, know makers, etc.
Thanks:)

Search C&F, both flute and whistle fora, for “csakan”. Basically a keyed piccolo conoid simple system body with a whistle head, usually in D but not necessarily at A-440, like anything alse late C19th/early C20th.

Mine is actually a combo. It has a piccolo head and a seperate flageolet head. I found one picture in the Miller collection and Jerry Schurr sent me a picture one one he restored. The only big difference is in the number of keys each one has. I am waiting to hear from Terry McGee. I e-mailed him, he appears to be a great source for historical info.
Thanks for the info, I hadn’t heard of the csakan. Mine does appear to be in “D”, but won’t be positive until I it restored (tenons wrapped and keys repadded).
