Clarke Original

I just got one. It’s got a wooden fipple. Does it need to be broken in?

Nope, just play it. But search for “Clarke tweak” for tips on reducing the windway height (thumb tweak), and possibly sealing the block.

Thanks MT  .

I rubbed some Chapstick on the part of the block that touches my lip, because my lip was sticking to the wood. It worked like a charm.

I’m pretty much loving how this whistle sounds untweaked. I don’t know that I’d want to change it in any way.

When I got my first Sweetone I loved it for the chiff. And now this original has even more of the breathy and I like it even better. I guess I’m in the high chiff camp.

Save the chapstick (lipstick) for poor little sick lips  use crayon in tri colour or candle wax, We Is HardCore Whistlers

My take on the Clarke Original

Very nice dog. Excellent workmanship.

Uh, I can’t do that though you gave good instruction…

Do me and a lot of Clarke-rs a favor and offer to tweak our whistles? I’d gladly pay for it.
