Anyone out there ever come across any compilations of sacred or church music for tin whistle? Sheet music – not recorded music.
here is one, I know there are others but I cant think of any right now… more people will most likely post more
I have not come across or heard of any compliations of sacred music for the whistle, but I whistle praise more than any other music, and a LOT of church music sounds good on the whistle right out of an ordinary hymnbook or chorus book. Whistling fits some music better than others, and I find the older hymns work well with it, such as “Be Thou My Vision,” “Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty,” and especially all kinds of Christmas carols, the older the better! Also, many of the modern praise choruses, such as “Worthy,” “I Love You Lord,” “Knowing You,” ROCK on the whistle. And the ornaments, which other instruments don’t do well, are frosting on the cake. Also, they’re all easier to play for a newbie than that greased-lightning Irish music (which I also enjoy when I’ve had too much caffeine)! Have FUN!
If you want just melody line (and words and chords), this would do fine:

It’s got tons of hymns.
I have some on Whistle and Squeak, fwiw…

Someone from another board recently sent me this link:

You can do a search for whatever sheet music you are looking for, and then pull up a pdf file with the sheet music in the key you want. It’s very cool - I was able to find sheet music for some traditional Christmas Carols. ![]()

I thought all ITM was sacred ![]()
Oh so true!!! ![]()
Since you’re interested in hymns, church music and such, you might like to check out the Praise Whistlers Abroad Forum, sling. You’ll find some familiar ‘names’ there. ![]()

Oooo… good suggestion. I’ll check out that forum. I actually did not say in my original post that I have in fact, played a few times in our church on one particular song. Whenever we sing that one, I play my whistle. I think it might be fun to find some others I can play maybe at some point.
