Take advantage of this rare opportunity! Schedule a 30-minute private lesson with Denis on Saturday, February 9 between 12-4 pm. Private lessons (available to all melody players) are $40 each for a 30-minute lesson. Due to a limited number of spaces, lessons are first come/first served and must be signed up for in advance.
Sun., Feb 10-Workshop:
The Music of County Clare
Denis will teach a hands-on advanced-intermediate (all ages) group workshop on Sunday, February 10 from 2-4 pm. Open to all melody players, this workshop will explore Denis’ own lifelong, passionate connection to the fantastic music and rich musical legacy of his home, County Clare.
The Workshop fee is $40 and includes admission to the concert.
Sun., Feb 10 concert:
The weekend culminates in a genuine “don’t miss” concert on Sunday, February 10 from 5:00-7pm with Denis Liddy, Elvie Miller and the Irish Music School of Chicago’s own guitarist and teacher, Jesse Langen. This is open to all fans of the best kind of traditional Irish music!!!
Free for workshop attendees. Otherwise, $20 per person or $50 per family.
Fees/Reservations:

About Denis:
Denis has won multiple All-Ireland awards as a fiddle player and as the leader of the Turloughmore Ceilí Band. He released the CD “Waifs and Strays” with legendary Kilshanny, Co Clare flute player Michael Hynes in 2003 to critical acclaim. Denis is a primary school teacher in the Barefield, Co. Clare national school. Many of his students have won awards at regional and all-Ireland Fleadh Cheoils, including Tara Breen and Bronwyn de Paor, the current Fiddler of Dooney winner. Denis’ students have recorded three CD’s: Iolar, Flowers of the Burren, and Between the Sets, and toured throughout the UK, France, Spain, Canada, China and USA. Denis has performed and taught all over the world at such prestigous festivals as the Ennis Trad Festival, Willie Clancy Summer School, Milwaukee Irish Fest and the Fleadh Nua.
Based out of Boston, Elvie Miller is well known for her exciting piano accordion playing. Elvie and Denis have played and taught together many times. We are excited to have her share her music with us!
