I’ve also got the dulcimer case and it’s perfect! I love it. I can fit my half set (including the bellows) and 2 chanters, with no problem and room to spare.
And apparently we also have the same floor.

I just bought a Ritter tenor sax gig bag.
They are well-padded, have lots of pockets and, as someone mentioned earlier, can be carried as a backpack.
There is even one pocket long enough to hold my chanters, which I keep in a soft highland chanter case.
I also have a shakuhachi case that I lined with padding
It is a perfect length, but a little shallow for the bellows.

I just received this from Gary Sagar at Prussia Valley Dulcimers. I believe this is slightly larger than those previously shown and has no pick compartment. I purchased a model slightly larger than the one shown on his website for $94 + shipping. Great service and product. The interior dimensions are 39.5" long by 9" at the widest point by 5" deep.

Just buy a Seth Gallagher Heavy Duty case. They’re only $150 and they attract lots of ladies. 
Well maybe not but they are a tad expensive.
I’m currently awaiting delivery of a “Bandmaster” hard case. It measures 30"x5.5"x11.5" and costs $110 tax inc. (and that’s Canadian dollars).
It the same as a tenor sax case but without the sax fittings and costs $40 less. Anyone interested, in the details, PM me.
It seems like everyone has got creative solutions to the question of how to carry pipes…obviously, an area not to be scimped on with an instrument potentially worth thousands.
I followed the advice of one sage C&F subscriber and went the double-shotgun route: Guardforce GDS-7454CW.
The thing is quite heavy by itself (30 lbs), but it seems indestructable and can carry my smallpipes and halfset UP quite spaciously, with enough room leftover to stow a tikki torch or two ; )

it weighs just about as much as the empty
original case I had for the set! Sure, it’s long,
but convenient in other ways. I won’t be
taking it as a carry-on on plane trips, though,
that’s for sure.
When I receive my new drones and regs, I will either build a case for it to my specs… or go the route of a double rifle case which look like an ideal way of transporting a full set with little or no breakdown required.
This is the case I currently use. It was built by a good friend of mine, Duane Cusak, many years ago to hold my GHBs.
I did the paint job on it while in a Jameson induced fog. 
ooo…you seem to have a set like mine…was yours a rebuild, or is it “straight”? I’m interested to know if what thoughts you have on it and what kind of performance you get out of it and how you would describe the sound of the chanter.
also…if you are replacing the drones with other drones and regs, I’m in the market for drones, and preferably the mainstock, too, so I don’t know if you were looking to sell these when you get your new ones or not.
I purchased it as a 1/2 set, so I imagine it hasn’t been modified. I have since replaced the chanter with a cocobolo and boxwood stick from Greenwood Pipes (excellent chanter by the way!), and I will be receiving the matching drones and regs when they are finished.
The drones are dead on solid, and currently I have composite reeds from Greenwood Pipes in them. Go to Clips and Snips under Uilleann to check out their sound.
The chanter that came with it had a plastic reed installed, which needed to be overhauled, but now is sounding good and is impervious to climate changes. Here is a sample of it being played:

This was a great ‘starter set’ for me, and I have never had a lick of trouble with them. I believe you can order individual parts from MidEast, including the mainstock… but to be honest with you, I recommend that if you are entertaining the idea of getting another set, perhaps having a Bruce Childress body built to go with your Bruce Childress chanter would be a wiser course to take. Sure, they’ll cost more, but you will be so much happier with a garunteed, high quality set, than with something that will most likely only depreciate in value over time, and has no ‘warranty’ of any kind.
well, some day my intent is to have a brucemade fullset as my main instrument…unfortunately, i am but a poor grad student, so even midEast’s prices exceed my abilities at the moment…and the impetus for getting a spare set in the first place is my trip in june, so waitlisting isn’t going to work…
oh, well…i’ve got my eyes out…
