I just picked up a Carbony Low G (Rob calls it “mezzo” instead of “low”…)
It’s really nice. The tone is round and smooth. It’s soft, without being breathy. I’ll try to record a sample, after I’ve gotten used to playing it.

I spent a bit of time talking with Rob about the design philosophy, manufacturing methods, and so forth. He’s a really interesting fellow to talk to. I also happened to be there when Richard Kean stopped by to test drive Rob’s new Highland pipes. It was really cool to hear Richard play up close and personal like that, and to eavesdrop on his feedback to the maker.
