:roll: Sorry guys but I’m new of this forum… so I apologise for the probably over spoked topic but my search sorted out thousand (really!!) of pages and, as always, the answer wasn’t in the first 20…
Does anyone knows what kind of tongueing and whistles (labels…) Brian Finnegan uses?

Whistles - Overton.

Tonguing - lots of it! He’s the master of triple-tonguing.

Thanks martin! Is the triple-tonguing the “TA KA DA” (I’ve never though about it but it really sounds like a karate move…) one? The one to make staccato triplets?

He hasn’t played Phil Hardy whistles for a while. As of about a year ago (when I asked him), he was playing exclusively Colin Goldie Overtons. He likes them easy-blowing.

yup, Ta Ka Da, or Da Da Blah.

Nope, definitely Overtons, not Hardys.

I’ve had the good fortune to see his whistles in person, he teaches at the Burwell Bash, a 5 day residential event held in August every year here in the UK, and I’ve been the last two years.

He’s a great whistle and flute player, can’t read sheet music, and sucks at British Bulldogs.

yup, Ta Ka Da, or Da Da Blah.

…before my whistle-time I played some brass instruments like trumpet, beritone and so on …there you always take Ta Ka Da, or Da Da Blah which helps a lot on the whistle !
