I started with playing flute some weeks ago (Dekeyzer in D)
I play already a while tin and low whistle.
I’ve just a small question: do you need more breath for a flute than for a (low) whistle, are is it just my fault?
Thanks for reactions

You’ll need more pressure, which doesn’t imply more breath necessarily. It’s a matter of focusing the stream by closing the lips and aiming the blowing, a task that you don’t need when it comes to whistling.
Patience…everything comes to whom who waits (and works, I’d say.)
start by searching the Flute Forum, by Posts, for the word embouchure
Yeah, until you learn to focus your embouchure, you will waste
a lot of air, which will force you to breath more often. It will get
better with time. Research as Denny suggested, and follow the
advice you find, and don’t get discouraged. It can take a little
while to get over that hump, but it’s worth it!
ok, thanks for the advice
