Indeed, “The Hoss” has a new home in Scotland where I think it’s generally thriving. I miss the big schtick, but I think I’m really a Rudallesque person, so I content myself with my refurbed-six-key boxwood Murray. When I’m in a Pratten mood (I play with an Irish/Bluegrass band and sometimes you just gotta honk) I have a lovely keyless Olwell (my Forbes Delrin does a heck of a job in that department as well); it seemed silly to have three Prattens when I was playing the Murray most of the time. But I sure did enjoy that flute; it never had a bad day. Hope yours gets to you soon and gives you similar joy!
