Just a possible suggestion (to the mods). Would it possible to break out the Whistle section in to sub headings? For example a wts/ wtt board. A making and tweaking board and maybe a playing/ practice board? It would make it easier to navigate and refer back to similar / related info.

I’d vote against that idea, were I given a chance. There aren’t so many posts in a given day that I cannot scan them all and see what is what. Sub fora would just make us have to click that many more times and wait for that many more page loads.

These WTB/FS/CP/etc prefixes work well enough.
Adding more fora sub-fora seems complicated at first, but it’s often the fate of growing, vital mesage boards. Even the suggestion that they’re needed is a compliment to the administrators and owners. It means they’re doing something of great value.
That’s true, but Occam’s razor (“entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity”) works for online communities as well as for science.
We’ve had a good number of requests for a FS/WTB/WTT area. I’ve actually given it pretty careful consideration and decided, at least for now, against it. I do think the prefix system in subject lines works well (especially when used properly.) But, we do appreciate a good suggestion and that’s a thoughtful one.

but that would make things more predictable, and less interesting I think.
If numbers really grow, then to effectively manage the info, then its worth considering for future.

If one uses the “View new post since last visit,” forum categories seem irrelevant. A single click shows me what is there, and if it’s interesting, I look at it.
Hm, if nothing else, I´d like to see reviews in different sub-forum. This way it´s not really easy for newcomers to orientate(yes, search works well, I know).
Wherever I´ve been, subfora changes were not negative…yet on many occasions, they weren´t really positive factors. So maybe it´s not really necessary.
If more stickies were added for any number of subjects, it may have no end on topics. I agree with the prefix system. However, perhaps we could standize the prefix system so a person doing a search could find most of the threads for a given topic.
IMO, I think we should have a classified section, and that would narrow down some off of every board topic.
