Bansuri , for Irish music (looking for)

Hi looking for a cheap Bansuri in B (E in three finger note terms).
Just looking for something to see how I get on with the huge stretch etc before investing
in a professional quality one.
Any experience or suggestions?
I posted here instead of World flutes forum as I want to use it for Irish music.

I have a couple of Bansuris by Jeff Whittier, which I think are quite good:

I have a G (what we’d call a D) and a C (what we’d call a G).

They’re lovely flutes and not expensive, but not ideal for ITM.

Thanks. I’ve been looking for a UK supplier I suppose.
Have you heard Fabrice De Graef

Owned a Casey Burns B flute for a while and currently have a nice Metzler B band flute
but I’m thinking to have a Bansuri for a while before deciding whether to order another B flute.

(My new pipes are B!)

If possible ask the maker/vendor for some measurements. I make wooden bansuri (not as inexpensive at $300) and can tell you that the key of B/tonic E tuning is a huge flute. Lots of players think they want one and then they get it and try to cover the holes

If the maker will provide distance to holes and their approximate diameters you might be able to make yourself a “mock” flute from a length of PVC or something to get a feel for the reach. I just tell people to get a 1" diameter length of PVC and mark the holes with tape or the like. Not the same as the physical act of sealing the holes, but at least you can figure out if you can get there without giving yourself tendonitis.
