I have aquired a very nice chanter with good reed and a spare one, and have heard the chanter being played, and its very sweet, I am a flute player that fancies ago at the pipes as they are amazing to listen to and although the learning curve is steep I just gotta have ago, my dilema is the chanter has pretty much wiped out my budget, so I am on limited funds for a bag and bellows, now I have read the sticky post on the pakistani made pipes and can see that quite a bit of the helpful info refers to the chanters, drones, and regs and the problems associated with the construction and playabilty, would it be unwise to by a practice set and utilise the bag and bellows with my quality chanter, or does anyone know of a uk based maker that has bags and bellows of the shelf so to speak that are could get me up and running.
I have posted a WTB bag and bellows post also, but would be very interested in anyones oppinions on buying a £150 Pakistani set just to use the bag and bellows.
A simple thing: The more energy the “gear” consumes, the less remains for the tune. If you use Pakistani “gear” (unfortunately no good value at all), absolutely nothing will remain for the tune.

As you’re new to the pipes but not ITM , get yourself to a tionol , meet lots of piping anoraks and live the dream.
