Anyone good at picking up lyrics?

I’m wondering if anyone can help me out with the lyrics to a song. It’s called “Ride with me baby,”"by Mars Bonfire. This is nominally the same song that was on Steppenwolf’s 1971 album For Ladies Only, but it’s much expanded. Mars Bonfire was the Wolf’s original guitarist (actually, he predated Steppenwolf; he was in the Sparrow), and their late drummer’s (Jerry Edmonton’s) brother. This song is in a style I’d describe as Bob Dylan meets Strawberry Alarm Clock meets Steppenwolf. Kind of stream of consciousness lyrics, psychadelia, and hard rock. It’s quite cool. I’ve got most of the lyrics, but the vocals are double-tracked and a little bit muddy at points, at least to my aged ears.

I’d be interested in a small handful of people’s takes on it. I can email an MP3 and my take on the lyrics this coming weekend. PM me with your email addy.

I just listened to the song on Spotify from the album Faster than the speed of Light (track 7) &, if it’s the same as your mp3, the lyrics are basically what I found on line, here > > http://songmeanings.com/songs/view/3530822107859452745/. Hope that helps.

Yep, Ben’s right. If this YouTube version is the extended version track, then those lyrics are complete and correct with two very minor exceptions.

 1. “Hiding what [you] could have been” - the word you is missing.
 2. The last [Chorus] marking was omitted.

Thanks folks! I’ve searched many times and only ever come up with the Steppenwolf version.

Cheers,
