Any tips for fitting a head to a too-small body?

Is it feasible to attach a slightly-too-large head (Sweetone D) onto a Feadog C body?

Basically, I have a headless shaft of a Feadog C. (It came with the “Freeman Tweaked Waltons Mellow C&D set” that I just got.) It’s not much good to anyone, being headless, so…

I’d like to try taking the head from a Sweetone D (un-tweaked) and putting it onto the Feadog C body. Not much of a sacrifice, since I don’t especially like the Sweetone D, and I’ve got other Ds I like better.

But, the Sweetone D head is a little too big for the Feadog C body. So… what can I do to fix that? Should I just wrap the end of the Feadog body with … what, electrical tape? till it’s more of a snug fit with the head? Or will that just accumulate moisture and lead to problems, e.g. mold?

Would some other material work better to fill the gap? Hmm… cork?!

If I can get this to work, why, it’ll be … a Sweetdog? SweeFea? Dogtone?

Teflon tape.

Double sided tape then teflon tape.

Renaissance woodwinds used a wrapping of waxed tread to seal the slides and joints. Easy tweak???

Great! Thanks, all.

If it turns out well I’ll try to post a video.

Alas, I don’t think that attaching a Sweetone D head to a Feadog C body is going to work well.

The 2nd octave sounds pretty sweet, actually, but the first octave sounds rough, and the 2nd octave is very noticeably flat, compared to the first octave. Oh well.

But, come to think of it, I also have a Sweetone C that I don’t play either. Maybe the Sweetone C head would work better on the Feadog C body? I’ll try that Sunday.
